Welcome!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I'm a young seamstress. I've started this to sort of catalog my projects. I'm also hoping to post tutorials, pattern reviews, etc. I've been sewing since I was 4 years old. I sew all kinds of things although I do prefer historical items. :) I've been attending civil war reenactments for the last 4 years. I have my own esty shop: www.stitchesofthepast.etsy.com I've also sewn children's clothes for Originals By Kay

Thanks so much for visiting! Please check back soon for more posts. :)

Sincerely,
Brooke

  2. Brooke, I am so delighted to have visited your blog and I am so eagerly looking forward to having it on my favorites list now and seeing many posts from you in the future!

I love using my blog as as sort of catalog for my projects too. It is nice to have everything in a post, with pictures and info, so I can go back and reference later if need be. I've done that SO often!
I love this picture of you as well. What a pretty young woman you are growing to be!

  3. Wow!!! Love the blog! Now I'll be checking yours every 5 minutes to see if you've posted! :)

We are picking green beans today in this horribly hot, steamy weather. My helpers are getting tired... :(

    Keep up the good posting!

  4. Also, how do you get your etsy shop to be on the side of your blog like that? I just posted a link of mine. How did you get all the items to display?

  5. Brooke, lovely blog! The idea of a way to catalog your sewing projects is an excellent one, time fades memories but this will make a permanent record. I love the chemise you wrote about, it is so lovely and feminine. :-) I'm looking forward to seeing more posts on future projects, you will inspire me to get sewing more!

  6. Thanks, Jordan! Your advice on the S&S was wonderful. :)

Sarah, thanks so much for your lovely comment. :) I'm glad to know you also use your blog to catalog things. Recently I've been wanting to copy some things I've made in the past and I can't seem to remember any details them. :S So I thought this would be a great way to remember. lol

'Cherise', thanks for commenting hun. :) You know how much I love comments... lol :P Did you get alot of beans? I wish I could be there to help ya. :) We definately need to start on your dress. Its going to be so beautiful! I'll make it a goal to get the pattern ready today. :)

About getting your etsy shop items to show up.....go to 'Your Account". Then on the left side of the page in the menu towards the bottom under 'Promote'. There's a link that says Etsy Mini. Click on that. Then make your mini. Select 'Items From my shop'. Then choose how many columns and rows you want. Mine is 1 column and 5 rows. Below there is a box with a code for the JavaScript version. You'll copy that. Then go over to your dash board. Click on Design. Add A Gadget. Add the one called HTML/JavaScript. Then it will bring up a window in which you'll paste the code and click save. And it should show up. If you can't get it to work. Let me know and I'll see what I can do. :)

    Love,
    Brooke
